Yesterday 76 crews, made up of 10 women each, set out from Moloka`i to paddle 41 miles across the Ka`iwi channel to finish on O`ahu. However, a huge NW surf swell arrived over night on saturday and made it nearly impossible for the paddlers to get their canoes out from Hale o lono harbor.
