First Winter Surf arrives on North Shore Maui
Winter is here! Its bitter sweet for us at Hawaiian Paddle Sports; when there is winter swell we can longer operate the Honolua Bay Excursion however we can go SURF at Honolua Bay! Each year winter swells bring HUGE waves to Maui, Hawaii’s North/West Shores.
Rare Hawaiian Monk Seal
We had a special visitor today on the west side of Maui during our private surf lesson… a rare, endangered, Hawaiian Monk Seal. Its estimated that there are fewer than 1,200 left in the world with only about 150 in the Main Hawaiian Islands. The remaining live in the minor outlying “Northwest Hawaiian Islands”.

Great conditions allowed for an amazing Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) Tour today. First time Paddle-boarder, Bruce from Seattle, was a little nervous about whether or not he would be able ‘get it’, but we had him and paddling from his first attempt!
