On normal trade wind days South Maui is blocked from the wind in the early mornings making it an ideal location for SUP lessons. Even if the winds do start to blow, Makena Bay is generally protected allowing us to tuck inside away from the wind.

An Incredible Time Had By All!
“From start to finish, my family and I had an amazing time with Hawaiian Paddle Sports! Our instructor, Curtis, did a phenomenal job in providing the best class possible before we even got onto the water. He taught us a little bit about the Hawaiian culture and language, how important it was to maintain a clean environment, and explained the simple basics of paddleboarding. Through his encouragement and positive reinforcement he was able to get everyone in my family standing on their boards, and we’ve the photographic evidence to prove it! Our time on the water was wonderful to say the least, and the best part was three-way tie between seeing sea turtles, actually standing up on our boards, or making our way around on the water. We were so sad that our lesson had to come to an end, but I have to say that our family would gladly take lessons from this company again in the future! Thank you for helping us check paddle boarding off of my mom’s bucket list, it was an experience none of us are soon going to forget!
