Group Tours require Age 6+ and swimming skills. No age or swimming requirements on private tours. We use double kayaks except if an odd # of guests.
Launching kayaks from historic Makena Landing in the center of Turtle Town you’ll have iconic Haleakala in the background.
With dozens of independent reefs throughout Turtle Town, your kayak guide will lead you away from the crowds to snorkel with green Hawaiian Sea Turtles. This South Maui location includes some reefs with underwater caves and arches commonly known as “Five Caves” and “Turtle Arches.”

“My mom and (adult) me did the Turtle Town kayak and snorkel tour with Enzo. It was spectacular! We saw so many fish and turtles, and we were lucky enough to see dolphins, too! The private tour is really worth it. Enzo was above and beyond friendly to us and fun to expore with. Truly and excellent guide!! He was really knowledgeable about the history of the area and the marine life we saw. Before we went, he showed us pictures of the fish we were going to see and told us a little about them. It made actually seeing them even more exciting! Enzo also took so many amazing photos of us and of the fish we saw at the reef. He even dove down to get closer to the fish. We came early, and then we were the first out on the water — would definitely recommend this. We also said we were willing to paddle a little longer, so we went to a reef where there were no other people — this was also a great choice, would highly recommend avoiding the crowds flocking to the closerby reef.
This tour, with Enzo, was truly one of the most amazing experiences my mom and I have ever had. We would highly recommend!

Due to the sometimes windy conditions, the West Maui Olowalu location is best for older children and adults who are comfortable in the ocean.
After a water safety and paddling orientation we depart from Olowalu Beach under the backdrop of Mauna Kahalawai (West Maui Mountains).
As your guide navigates you through the shallow coral gardens you won’t help but notice the vivid reef structures everywhere you look. This shallow water playground opens to slightly deeper water where your guide leads you to a ‘turtle cleaning station’ with an abundance of turtles and marine life.

“We meet with our guide Dan and he gave us a tutorial on reef safe sunscreen, types of fish we would likely see and water safety. The water is so clear!! We could see the bottom for a long way off shore. We kayaked for a long distance and sit there taking in the beauty of the ocean between Maui and Lanai. Then we hear this eerie sound and then cow-like sound. We sat the mesmerized by this magical moment that will be forever engrained in our brains. Dan said it sounded like a Humpback Whale was under us. He put on snorkel gear and saw outline of the whale under us. He took pictures and video. We saw several whales breech, blowhole and fluke. Dan thanked the whales and they sang again. Then we headed back to the reef. Dan then spotted several Black Tip Reef Sharks but they quickly swam away. The Dan excitedly pointed out a Hawaiian Monk Seal resting on a reef. What an awesome day!! The water and island views are breathtaking! Dan is awesome and informative! He taught me several types of fish that I could identify throughout our stay. If you are considering this trip…DO IT!!!
